Nickel alloy 718 is a precipitation-strengthened nickel-based high-temperature high-strength alloy. The suitable thermal processing temperature is 1120-900℃. The cooling method can be water quenching or other rapid cooling methods. After thermal processing, it should be annealed in time to ensure the best performance. The material should be heated to the upper limit of the processing temperature during hot processing. In order to ensure plasticity during processing, the final processing temperature when the deformation reaches 20% should not be lower than 960°C. Cold working should be carried out after solution treatment, and the work hardening rate is greater than that of austenitic stainless steel, so the processing equipment should be adjusted accordingly, and there should be an intermediate annealing process during the cold working process.

It has excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking and pitting in both high temperature and low temperature environments, and its oxidation resistance is particularly excellent at high temperatures.

Another feature of the alloy is that the structure of the alloy is particularly sensitive to the hot working process. The relationship between phase precipitation and dissolution in the alloy and the relationship between structure, process and performance can be grasped, and reasonable and feasible process procedures can be formulated for different use requirements.
